Meteor Crater

Within a one-hour drive from Flagstaff, you can observe a giant meteor crater impacted on an arid landscape. The 700 feet deep and 4,000 feet wide crater was formed when a gigantic meteorite, collided in the rocky plains of Northern Arizona. The area is a US natural landmark.The meteor visitor center includes space exhibits that feature a large meteorite that you can touch and a short trail that connects a number of viewing platforms on the crater rim.
